The season of Lent began on Wednesday 18th February, Ash Wednesday.
On Friday evenings during Lent we share in the devotion known as the Way of the Cross together with our Anglican neighbours at St Laurence’s Church, some weeks at St Joseph’s and some weeks over the road at St Laurence’s, starting at 7.30pm:
20th February: St Laurence’s
27th February: St Joseph’s
6th March: St Laurence’s
13th March: St Joseph’s
20th March: St Laurence’s
27th March: St Joseph’s
During Lent, we are encouraged to deepen our faith through the practices of almsgiving, prayer and self-denial.
Suggestions for almsgiving this Lent include CAFOD, supporting those in need overseas, and Your Place (formerly Anchor House) addressing homelessness more locally. You might also like to use these ‘Live Simply’ reflections, from a previous Lent
